A double triumph in Tarnów!

// 2025-06-09

We're coming back from the 39th Tarnów Film Award with two distinctions!

Bogusław Linda - one of the most recognizable Polish actors, a symbol of Polish cinema, and co-founder of the Warsaw Film School - was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the development of Polish cinematography. The ceremonial presentation of the “Włóczykij” statuette took place with the participation of the Mayor of Tarnów, Jakub Kwaśny, who personally handed it to the artist. Along with the award, Mr. Linda received a cash prize of 10,000 PLN. The entire community of the Warsaw Film School is proud of this extraordinary achievement!

For the first time in the festival’s history, this year’s edition included a Special Award for an emerging filmmaker. The prize of 5,000 PLN was funded by the Tarnów Cultural Centre and the Polish Filmmakers Association. It was presented by Magdalena Piątek, Director of the Tarnów Film Award, and Kuba Armata, the festival’s Artistic Director. The award went to our graduate, Monika Majorek, for her film “There Will Be No Other End”.

The jury's justification: "A wise, courageous debut that invites the viewer to accompany a deeply intimate experience. For a tender study of escape and return, and a moving story about trauma that does not overwhelm but brings light."

Bravo, Monika! Your debut is a powerful voice in young Polish cinema — may it resonate as loudly as possible!
